Montero, BoliviaMontero is a city in the department of Santa Cruz, Bolivia. The city is located about 50 km north of the city of Santa Cruz de la Sierra in the flat agricultural lands. The city is predominantly agricultural where the surrounding lands are planted with sugarcane, soybeans, cotton, bananas, corn and rice. Montero is named after the Independence war hero, General Marceliano Montero. The city has grown rapidly in recent decades with a population of about 92,000 people. Though the city doesn't see many tourist or really have any tourist attractions, it could make a half-day trip if you want to experience another town in the eastern lowlands of Bolivia.
