Devils Molar
The Devils Molar (La Muela del Diablo) is an massive rock formation just outside the city of La Paz, Bolivia that can be seen throughout the skyline in La Paz. The rock formation was formed from volcanic activity, which is now extinct.
From a distance, the Devil's Molar looks like an old molar or large tooth and because of the red soil of the area, it has been named the Devils Molar.
If you enjoy hiking, Devil's Tooth makes a great half-day hike that provides spectacular views of La Paz and the scenic mountains that surround it.
To get there it is about a half-hour micro or bus ride (#207 or #288) from the Plaza del Estudiante in La Paz to the outlying village of Pedregal, a couple of kilometers from Zona Sur. From Pedregal there is a trail that starts behind the cemetery and it is about a hour hike uphill to the foot of the Devil's Molar.
